Neil Armstrong: You Will be Remembered

As many have heard by now, the US media is reporting the death of famed US astronaut Neil Armstrong: The first man on the moon and commander of the Apollo 11 mission.

Neil underwent surgery earlier this month to relieve his blocked coronary arteries.  The initial surgery was a success, but it may have been too late.

Armstrong will be remembered as one of the most famous astronauts of all time.  He is the second astronaut we’ve lost with summer, after the loss of Sally Ride just last month.

You will be missed, Neil, and thank you for everything you did.  The courage to be the first man to set foot on a piece of large solid matter in space that is not – not anymore anyway – part of our own planet, is something I can’t imagine I could ever muster.
